About
Every book I write is about the same thing in different clothes.
I'm interested in what people do when they think no one is watching, and what happens to them when someone finally is. I'm interested in families, the ones we're born into, the ones we build, the ones that hollow us out and the ones that hold us together. I'm interested in grief and joy as a way of organizing a life. I'm interested in the moment a person decides to stop hiding.
That obsession has carried me into political thrillers, gothic fiction, small-town crime, and intimate love stories about men learning to be loved. The genres look different from the outside. Inside, they're the same book: who is watching, who is being seen, and what the cost is when those two finally meet.
I publish under a pen name because the work should speak first. But the work is honest. It's about how we survive each other, and sometimes how we don't.
If that sounds like something you'd read, you're already the reader I'm writing for.
Start with Still Water if you want the literary crime entry point. Start with The Hollow Clock if you want the strangest, most ambitious one. Start with In the Serpent's Shadow if you want the political thriller. Start with The Bear Hunt if you want the love story.
